This Privacy Policy describes how the motixsnap.com web service and related products (including the MotixSnap Chrome extension) handle user data. By using the site, the service, or the extension, you agree to the terms below.

Data We Collect on the Website
- Account data (email, hashed password, settings) — on registration and use of the bookmarking service.
- Bookmarks and categories — URL, title, thumbnail screenshot, added by the user themselves.
- Technical cookies (
csrf_token,lang, session identifier) — for authentication, security, and language preference. - IP address and server log data — standard request logging for diagnostics and security.
Google Analytics and Advertising (AdSense)
motixsnap.com uses Google Analytics for traffic analysis and Google AdSense for displaying ads. These services may set their own cookies and process technical data (IP address, browser type, advertising identifiers) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share any account-level personal data (email, password, bookmark content) with Google — the exchange is limited to standard web analytics and advertising.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties (except the standard Google services described above).
- We do not collect more data than is necessary to operate the service.
- We do not use bookmark data for advertising or profiling.
Data Retention and Deletion
Account, bookmark, and category data are stored for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual bookmarks or categories yourself at any time within the motixsnap.com interface.
To delete your entire account and all associated data, send a request to q@motixsnap.com from the email address your account is registered with. The request will be processed within 30 days.
User Rights
You have the right to learn what data we hold about you, request correction or full deletion, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact q@motixsnap.com.
MotixSnap Chrome Extension
This section describes what data is processed specifically by the MotixSnap Chrome extension, and is intended in particular for Chrome Web Store review.
Data the Extension Processes
- Active tab URL and title — only when the user explicitly clicks save in the extension popup.
- Screenshot of the visible page area — generated only on explicit user action, used for the bookmark thumbnail.
- CSRF session token — a technical token stored in a cookie on motixsnap.com, used only to verify authenticated requests.
- User account data — the same data described above, processed by the server when using the service via the extension.
- Local extension settings — stored via chrome.storage.sync, never transmitted to us.
What the Extension Does NOT Collect
- Browsing history for pages not explicitly saved as a bookmark.
- Data from tabs that are not active.
- Data for advertising or marketing purposes.
- The extension does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
How the Extension Transmits Data
Data is transmitted from the extension only to our own server, motixsnap.com, over a secure HTTPS connection, and is used solely to save, organize, and display the user's bookmarks.
